I once poured all my energy into building a homepage — the design, the whole framework, everything was set. Then I thought, “Okay, time to finally start a blog!” …and, of course, ended up leaving it to rot for years. It’s been well over ten years since then. Back in those days, “blogs” were still alive and kicking. Most information you needed came from individuals writing and sharing their own posts, and you’d actually meet people through those exchanges. It was a warmer, more human era of the internet.
But over time, blogs got buried under ad-heavy posts, and as the internet evolved, people just stopped visiting them. Now, I feel like blogging is practically dead cold. These days, thoughts, daily lives, and bits of information are shared on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and all those other platforms. Honestly, I can barely remember the last time I visited a personal blog.
The internet now feels cold, even hostile. Not just the internet — society itself feels colder, full of individualism and constant belittling. Am I only noticing this because I’ve gotten older? Or is this just a natural phase of change I need to accept? Either way, here I am, starting this blog with no clear plan, just writing.
This time, I won’t procrastinate. Even if it’s just random nonsense, I’ll keep writing, leaving some kind of trace of myself in this little corner of the internet.
